All Adventures Must Have an Ending...
We are running out of yellow bricks on our little road, sea in our voyage, and steps in our journey, but this journey has a happy ending and I will tell you all about it.
We started our business's social media campaign about the first week of February and it's been a wild ride since. We wanted to reach our adventurers in every way possible. We've shared with you contest winners, new adventures coming, and pictures/videos you sent to us! We truly are a company made up of the people who partake in our adventures. Speaking of which, we have a huge announcement tonight. Drumroll please!
After sorting through the 490 videos sent to us for our #1 Adventurer contest, myself, CEO Tyson Donahue, and 2015's #1 Adventurer Rory Bickerstaff are proud to announce that Reel-to-Real's #1 Adventurer for 2016 is... Marcus Thatcher! Congratulation Marcus on this huge opportunity and we're looking forward to bringing you along on our team this year as we organize amazing concepts for adventures! To hear more about Marcus's story make sure to keep an eye on our Facebook page, should be coming soon.
There's so much more news to share with you tonight, so if this post gets a little long I apologize in advance. We're just having a blast over here at Reel-to-Real and we want to keep you all involved! In the next few weeks we will be making our new app 'R2R Crossing' available for free in the Android Market and Apple Store. This app is the home for all adventurers to come across each other. The app has a gallery of each adventure series, merchandise, and weather updates to keep all adventurers informed to the minute about their adventures, but the coolest thing is this live chat area we're calling Adventurer Hub. In this Adventurer Hub, we provide an area for adventurers to chat with each other and also interact frequently with actors, directors, tour guides, myself, our 2015 and 2016 #1 Adventurers, and also CEO Tyson Donahue. All of it is live! We cannot wait for this amazing app and we hope you download it as soon as it comes to the market.

Now, I want to take a moment to break the fourth wall and discuss a little about who I really am. My name is actually LC Mackie, it just stands for Logan Callum Mackie. I am a college Marketing student who is in his last couple of semesters of his Marketing Communications Program. I'm a very shy person, but once you scratch past the surface there's so much interesting things about me. Like that my dad is from Scotland, I have 3 brothers and 1 sister, I have failed many times in my 24 years, I have lost a lot including my best friend, but I am also one of the hardest working individuals you will ever find. I am dedicated 200% to my future of becoming a screen writer in Hollywood and my career aspirations are coming to life right in front of me! In about 1 year, I plan on attending either the University of California - Los Angeles or Arizona State University. Being from Wisconsin, that is a huge move.
I have had a blast running this business for the last 3 months and I hope that I was able to interest you all in what I was doing. It's eye-opening to see how hard it is to run a business's social media and to stay creative, innovative, informative, and passionate. These are all things I put in to every Facebook post (36 posts), every Tweet (88 tweets), every picture/video on Instagram (25 posts), every blog post on this blog (9 blogs posts), and all the fun stuff we did like a Podcast, YouTube, TV commercials, Magisto, Jing/Screencast, and Soundcloud! I had such a blast and I am glad I took this class. I hope this helps vault me in my future and show the passion I could provide to a company in need of a social media marketer!

As I sign off I just want to leave one lasting message, remember "movies are only an adventure away..."

#1 Adventurer Contest - 2016 Edition
For the second year in a row we are holding a contest to learn who our #1 adventurer is. Last year's winner was Rory Bickerstaff, who was a college student that saved her money to take her grandpa on every one of his favorite film adventures through Reel-to-Real as one of his last wishes before he passed away. We were proud to name Rory our #1 Adventurer and we brought her along with us as an intern this last year. She still works as an intern and she'll be helping us name 2016's #1 Adventurer.
The contest is now open and runs until Sunday, April 10. The winner will be chosen by myself, CEO Tyson Donahue, and Rory Bickerstaff and we will announce the winner on our blog post next Sunday. Contestants will upload their 1-2 minute video in our comment section, pitching their case to us why they believe they are our #1 adventurer. The #1 adventurer gets the opportunity to join our team at Reel-to-Real, working hand-in-hand with our development team as they come up with concepts for the next year. This is an exclusive and special opportunity to become part of our amazing company and affect the future for all film adventures to come.
If you meet these requirements below, do not miss your chance to become Reel-to-Real's 2016 #1 Adventurer:
- Must be 18 years or older, with valid proof of age required
- Must live in North America, South America, or Europe
- Must speak fluid English, as our company is located out of Los Angles, California
- Will need to sign a contract agreeing to a 1-year paid internship
- Will need to move to Los Angeles, California (travel expenses covered by Reel-to-Real)
- All Reel-to-Real employees and employees of affiliating companies are excluded from winning
We look forward to hearing all of your stories and naming a new #1 Adventurer!
Looking for a social media, other than Facebook and Twitter, that is more suited to adventurers like you? Check out Wayn, and here is a little instructional video of the basics of getting around Wayn.
